All wells require P&A (Plug and Abandonment) at the end of their productive life. P&A is responsible for up to 40% of total decommissioning costs for some operators.

Course Objective

By the end of this course, you will gain an understanding of the well life cycle, P&A standards, and be able to plan and apply new technology to old designs. Additionally, you will learn about available technologies, current best practices, and innovative solutions for P&A verification and long-term planning.

Audience

This Micro VILT will benefit staff involved in drilling and workover, with 2-3 years of experience in the design of wells and/or drilling or workover operations. It is recommended for the following staff to attend: Well Engineers Drilling Engineers Drilling Supervisors Workover Supervisors Production Engineering Well decommissioning Engineers * Prior experience in Plug & Abandonment is not required.

Prerequisite

A basic understanding of drilling and completion principles and some industry exposures are desirable for participants before enrolling in this course. However, if this is not the case, the system will be adapted to meet the needs of all attendees.
