Subsurface – Upper Completion

The course objective of “Subsurface – Upper Completion” is to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of assembling and installing essential equipment and tools within the wellbore during oil drilling. Through this course, participants will learn to optimise production, manage reservoir fluids, and ensure well integrity, which are vital for maximising hydrocarbon recovery.

By the end of the course, participants will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate complex geological formations, mitigate operational risks, and contribute effectively to the sustainable extraction of crucial energy resources.

Course Content

MODULE 1 – Deepwater cold environment impact to flow assurance (focus on downhole). Chemical injection systems design and selection, control line sizing, dosage

MODULE 2 – Upper completion equipment topics specific to deepwater/subsea (interface between upper and lower completion, deepset TRSV, subsea tubing hanger interface with subsea XMT, downhole hydraulic lines and cable interface with TH/XMT). Consideration to also be given to XMT deployment and operation during completion operations which shall incorporate the utilization of IWOCS

MODULE 3 – Options on Downhole artificial lifts method available for subsea well

Audience

Invaluable for production, operations, and integrity professionals involved in implementing & managing well integrity and seeking to improve performance. It is also essential for those who need to develop and implement such systems, or who require an understanding of well integrity management.

This micro VILT will also provide a fresh approach for senior professionals and managers. Designed for professionals in the oil and gas industry who are involved in the design, construction and operation of wells from the following disciplines:

  • Production maintenance
  • Production operations
  • Drilling engineering
  • Safety engineering
  • Well intervention
  • Well integrity engineering
  • Asset management

Prerequisite

A basic understanding of drilling and completion principles and some industry exposures are desirable for participants before enrolling in this course. However, this course can be adapted to meet the needs of all attendees.
