Course Objective

This course aims to enhance participants' understanding of managing challenging offshore drilling scenarios through Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) within narrow pore or fracture pressure windows, particularly with Overbalanced Drilling (OBD) methods. Attendees will gain insights into the principles of overbalanced, managed, and underbalanced drilling, evaluating the efficacy of MPD techniques in offshore wells. The course will cover the historical background of offshore MPD, candidate selection processes, fluid system selection, risk assessment, operational boundaries, equipment usage, and QHSE considerations, supplemented with real-world case studies and operational examples from various regions.
