Objectives
To explore the challenges of drilling and evaluating HPHT wells. Students will learn about well planning processes, the drilling and geological challenges presented by HPHT wells, pore pressure detection processes, rock fracture pressure, ECD requirements, and well control procedures. Rig types and casing design methods will be explored.
Audience
Geologists, Geophysicists, Petroleum and Drilling Engineers. Some wellsite or operations experience and a basic knowledge of geology are beneficial for this course.
